Mahindra and Mahindra, the leading giant in high end SUV market launched its first global SUV, the XUV500 today in Pune taking the SUV class to a new platform. The company tagged the price of Rs. 10.8 lacs for its W6, the two-wheel drive model and Rs. 11.95 lacs for the W8 model. There is also a premium model the XUV500 W8 AWD version pricing Rs 12.88 lacs (all ex-showroom Delhi prices).

The XUV500 comes in both two and four-wheel drive versions with a 6-speed manual and automatic gearbox. It’s powered by a 2.2-litre, common-rail diesel engine and gives fuel efficiency of 15.1 kpl, the second most fuel-efficient vehicle in Mahindra’s passenger SUV portfolio after the Bolero.
Exteriors: The XUV- 500 gives the tough and aggressive looks with sleek design. In front it has an alluring jaw-like honeycomb grill with static bending projecting headlamps and fog lamps. It empowers the automatic rain sensing wipers and possesses a bodyline like a pouncing Cheetah. The backside of the car includes twin exhaust pipes, elegant backlight and has tubeless tyres alloy wheels.


Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) has launched its all new global SUV  in Indian auto market. The global SUV is launched in a two-wheel drive option and two four -wheel drive variants.
 


The launch of XUV 500 took place at Pune where  was unveiled at Rs 10.80 lakh for W6 two wheel drive model, Mahindra XUV 500 W8 two wheel drive priced at Rs 11.95 lakh and Mahindra XUV 500 W8 all wheel drive (AWD) priced at Rs 12.88 lakh. Mahindra XUV 500 is a global SUV launched by Mahindra, as it has received inputs from experts across the globe and it has been designed at the research and development center of Mahindra in Chennai.
Mahindra XUV 500 reviews suggest that the SUV comes with a 2.2 litre CRDi engine which currently powers its most renowned SUV Mahindra Scorpio. The diesel engine of Mahindra XUV 500 delivers a peak power output of 140 Bhp and a maximum torque of 330 Nm. The engine of XUV 500 is mated with a six speed manual transmission gear box. Mahindra XUV500 is the first ever model from the Mahindra’s umbrella to adorn the monocoque structure with a transverse engine in it.
M&M launches XUV 500 in Indian auto market with advanced technology like steering mounted audio control, parking sensors with Intellipark (Reverse Parking Assist System) and cruise control. A 6 inch touch screen, Infotainment System with GPS, DVD, CD, MP3, FM, USB, iPod connectivity; Driver Information System, Micro Hybrid technology; Fully Automatic Temperature Control with dual HVAC are stuffed in the console to keep technology at high. All Wheel Drive with Interactive Torque Management enhance smoothness while driving a Mahindra XUV 500. Rain & Light sensors as well as Tyretronics (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System) will add to the smartness of the SUV.
The  comes with well-designed exteriors which take it to the next level from the rest of the Mahindra models. The front of the SUV looks huge and dramatic with carved and dominating grille perfectly suiting the look of a SUV. Mahindra XUV 500 on both the sides is fitted with electric foldable and adjustable ORVMs with blinking indicators and power windows. The SUV interiors are very comfortable and house a powerful AC with Dual Zone Climate Control. Mahindra XUV 500 is launched in India to compete with the likes of Tata Aria, Toyota Innova, Chevrolet Tavera and new Tata Safari. Mahindra XUV 500 is fitted with six airbags (front side and curtain). ABS (Anti Lock-braking System) for avoid skidding with EBD (Electronic Brake Distribution) and both front and rear disc brakes are there to provide safety to both the passenger and driver during sudden break application and at the instance of a collision.
